Apple Porridge


  • 2/3 cup raw gluten free oats or whole rolled oats

  • 2 cups water or nut based milk of your choice

  • Pinch of salt, Himalayan or sea salt

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 1-2 teaspoons pure maple syrup, to taste

  • 1 apple, cored and cut into small cubes

  • 2 tablespoons walnuts, chopped coarsely


Place the oats, salt and water/nut milk in a large pan and bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until thickened. Add more liquid until the desired consistency is reached.

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, cinnamon, coconut oil and half of the chopped apples. Pour into a serving bowl and top with the remaining apple cubes, maple syrup, walnuts and sprinkle with more cinnamon.
